All programs at RRC Polytech have admission requirements that you must meet for acceptance into your desired program. Admission requirements are not intended to be a barrier for your acceptance. Rather, admission requirements will assist you in understanding the skill level required for success in the program selected. High school courses that have been modified (or M courses) will not be accepted as proof of meeting an admission requirement.
If you have modified designations on any admission requirement credit, you are required to write a Special Admissions test to determine your eligibility for the program. You will be referred for testing after a College representative reviews your application and high school transcript.
It is important for anyone attending college to increase self-awareness, explore various careers and programs offered, and consider the best fit. At RRC Polytech, we encourage individuals to engage in our self-directed Career Exploration program, which includes a workbook and helpful online and community resources.
Once you have completed the workbook, there are several on-campus resources that may be helpful in your next steps.
Academic Advisors can provide you with information about RRC Polytech full-time programs; help you to understand admission requirements; assist you in selecting a program to meet your goals; and connect you with helpful people, resources, and support.
There are two types of tests you may need to write in the application process:
You will be referred for Special Admissions Assessments after you apply. A College representative will review your high school transcript and refer you to the appropriate assessment if needed.

RRC Polytech is committed to providing student with disabilities equal opportunity to demonstrate their skills and ability. Students with diagnosed disabilities can receive accommodations (referred to as “adaptations” in high school) for admissions testing. Prior to booking your admission test, if you wish to request accommodations, you must first book an appointment with Student Accessibility Services to determine your eligibility.
In this appointment, you are required to provide adequate documentation verifying your disability. For documentation guidelines see the disability documentation guide. Together with your accessibility specialist, an accommodation plan for your admission test will be made. Information about accommodations for a future program can also be explored.
RRC Polytech is dedicated to ensuring access to education for academically qualified persons with disabilities. This often includes the development and implementation of an accommodation plan. Accommodations are always determined through documentation provided to Student Accessibility Services, the student’s self-report, and consideration to academic standards.
Each accommodation plan is individualized for the student with a disability and strives to reduce or remove barriers arising from the disability. Find out more about the types of accommodations provided.
You can make an appointment with Accessibility Services by first completing the online registration form. You will be contacted with an appointment time that works best for you.
If you had courses or programs in high school that were modified, please note that modifications at RRC Polytech are not possible. Students with a documented disability are expected to demonstrate and achieve the same competencies as other students in their program or department. The ways in which competencies are achieved may include academic accommodations. For more information, see RRC Polytech’s Academic Accommodation policy.
RRC Polytech campuses are located on the lands of Anishinaabe, Ininiwak, Anishininew, Dakota, and Dené, and the National Homeland of the Red River Métis.
