Directions Business Conference

Save the date: Directions 2025 is coming March 5, 2025!

The next Directions Conference is taking place March 5, 2025, at the RBC Convention Centre — you won’t want to miss it.

Held annually, the Directions Business Conference connects RRC Polytech students in Business and Applied Arts with industry professionals in many areas of business. We expect around 700 attendees.

This year’s conference promises to be exceptional, featuring Cassandra Carreiro as the keynote speaker. Carreiro is a renowned Indigenous business leader committed to supporting local businesses and promoting diversity and inclusion. Cassandra has made significant contributions to various sectors, making her insights particularly relevant for attendees.

Roundtables will follow breakfast and opening remarks by College leadership and a blessing by an Indigenous elder. Representatives from nearly 70 different businesses and organizations ‘host’ students who wish to learn more about the respective organization’s mission, culture and vision, to better acquaint themselves should they choose to seek employment there in the future. Similar to ‘speed dating’, students spend about 20 minutes at various tables. Roundtable sessions give students the opportunity to learn more about potential employment options and make valuable contacts with prospective employers.

Following Roundtables, the Conference hosts a series of Break-Out Panels. These sessions can include a range of topics related to areas such as Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Financial Services, Human Resource Management, Hospitality and Tourism, Logistics and Marketing, presented by accomplished subject matter experts.

The conference concludes with a luncheon, followed by our keynote speaker, Cassandra Carreiro.
