Manitoba’s vehicle manufacturing, maintenance and construction firms invited to go virtual

December 7, 2017

Manitoba’s vehicle and construction industries are going virtual. Representatives from heavy vehicle manufacturing and construction firms participated in a live demonstration yesterday of Librestream Technologies’ award-winning Onsight Collaboration Platform, which allows companies to bring their experts to field situations virtually, from anywhere, at any time.
This demonstration stemmed from a partnership between Red River College’s Vehicle Technology and Energy Centre (VTEC), Vehicle Technology Centre (VTC) and Librestream. Winnipeg Free Press business reporter Martin Cash attended and wrote this news piece.
Through the partnership, limited free trial-licenses of the Onsight technology are being offered to regional companies until March 31, 2018. Organizations interested in trying one of the free licenses are encouraged to contact Kevin Dickson at: kdickson103@rrc.ca

“Librestream services have been very helpful during the construction of the College’s extreme weather testing facility – Motivelab” said VTEC Research Manager, Jojo Delos Reyes. “The Onsight technology allowed our construction project team to collaborate with firms based in Toronto and the U.S., providing quick access to engineering and technical expertise for live fieldwork support.”
Librestream is now expanding its customer base within Manitoba with help from this partnership with the College.
“We are thrilled to be a part of the MotiveLab construction project at the College, the first of its kind in the Prairies,” said Librestream VP, Marieke Wijtkamp. “Manitoba has such a strong manufacturing and construction sector that we also see this partnership with the College, VTC and VTEC as a valuable opportunity to expand our customer base within Canada.”
About Librestream’s Onsight Collaboration Platform:
For manufacturers of high-value equipment for transportation, aerospace, agriculture, mining and other industries, the quality of after-sale support is a key differentiator and critical to a company’s competitiveness.
Customers’ demand for increased asset uptime and for rapid response times to service mission-critical equipment are fundamental challenges faced by teams providing in-field service. This is made all the more challenging with increasing product complexity, an aging workforce, and a requirement to manage or reduce costs.
Best-in-class companies are facing these challenges with technologies that lever the “Internet of Things” to offer efficient tools for mobile video collaboration, bringing experts into the field virtually to rapidly and efficiently respond to customers’ service needs.
The Onsight Collaboration Platform allows companies to bring experts to field situations virtually. Results include:

  • Dramatically improved response times
  • Significantly increased equipment uptimes
  • Compelling cost savings and productivity improvements for manufacturers’ service organizations
