Tour Options:
Tour 1. The Vehicle Technology & Energy Centre (VTEC) and MotiveLab
Manitoba is a major transportation hub for North America with a strong manufacturing presence, and the College has been involved in applied research in sustainable vehicles since 2004. Enjoy a guided tour of the Vehicle Technology & Energy Centre (VTEC) and MotiveLab, a 3,000-square-foot research facility focused on supporting Manitoba’s heavy vehicle sector.
MotiveLab is currently under construction and will feature a 1,000 HP engine dynamometer test cell and a drive-in climatic chamber large enough to fit a bus, truck or farm vehicle. The chamber can reach temperature highs of +50C or lows of –40C, independent of outside temperature.
Tour 2. The Building Envelope Technology Access Centre (BETAC) and the Centre for Applied Research in Sustainable Infrastructure (CARSI)
Join this facility tour to see how BETAC and CARSI can be your partner in innovation. The Building Envelope Technology Access Centre (BETAC) enables organizations in the building construction industry to access Red River College’s capabilities, equipment, assets and expertise.
BETAC’s services address the inherent challenges with designing and constructing a durable, energy efficient building envelope in Manitoba’s unique climate.
The Centre for Applied Research in Sustainable Infrastructure (CARSI) is the first dedicated research lab at a college in Manitoba. CARSI aims to develop advanced sustainable infrastructure technologies in four strategic areas: asphalt concrete pavement; advanced composite materials; large light frame wood structures; building envelopes.
Tour 3. Technology Access Centre for Aerospace & Manufacturing (TACAM) and Robotics Lab
Join this facility tour of the Technology Access Centre for Aerospace & Manufacturing (TACAM) and Red River College’s Robotics Lab.
TACAM enables aerospace and manufacturing organizations to access the College’s capabilities, equipment, assets and expertise, which opens up a world of opportunity and an unparalleled level of access to advanced innovation and productivity.
As robotic automation has become an essential element for manufacturing facilities to drive their productivity, visit the Robotics Lab to learn how the College has raised an entire family of robots meant to serve industry specific needs.
Tour 4. Life Sciences Labs
Lab facilities in the Life Sciences department include facilities and equipment for Chemical Analysis, Microbiology, Quality Control Testing, Bio-processing (Fermentation) and Tablet manufacturing. The department has the expertise to support research and innovation in the areas of Chemistry, Food and Nutraceuticals, Pharmaceuticals, Environmental Studies and related areas. Join us in the tour and let’s know of any innovative ideas you might have.
