Building Efficiency Technology Access Centre

The Building Efficiency Technology Access Centre (BETAC) provides a multidisciplinary environment to facilitate advancements in technology primarily for durability and energy efficiency of buildings, while addressing the building’s components and assembly, intended use, life service and climate zone location.

Centre for Applied Research in Sustainable Infrastructure

The Centre for Applied Research in Sustainable Infrastructure (CARSI) offers facilities for testing mock-ups and assemblies for air, water, structural and thermal performance during design and pre-construction phases, as well as pre-certification testing of product prototypes.

Prairie Research Kitchen

Creative solutions to support food processors and food service providers through research and development, technical services and training. The Prairie Research Kitchen brings together a unique blend of food science and culinary arts to develop solutions for our clients.

Paterson GlobalFoods Institute

Located in Winnipeg’s historic Exchange District, the Paterson GlobalFoods Institute (PGI) is home to the Prairie Research Kitchen and to RRC Polytech’s School of Hospitality and Culinary Arts.

Prairie Research Kitchen

The Prairie Research Kitchen features modular spaces to accommodate project-specific equipment as needed. The facilities come fully-equipped with everything you need to advance your food product or service to the next stage of the food development process.

Technology Access Centre for Aerospace and Manufacturing

Cost-effective, practical solutions to support the aerospace and manufacturing industries through research and development, technical and business services, and training and knowledge dissemination. The Technology Access Centre for Aerospace and Manufacturing (TACAM) offers access to RRC Polytech’s facilities, equipment and expertise, and to funding opportunities to foster innovation.

Smart Factory

The Smart Factory is an applied research space, experiential learning facility, and technology demonstration site that showcases emerging technologies.

Model Factory Machine Shop

The Model Factory Machine Shop is the College’s centre for applied research and skills development in Computer Numeral Control (CNC) operations, Quality Analysis (QA) dimensional measurements, kanban or pull-based manufacturing systems, rapid-change tooling, and customized production.

Centre for Aerospace Technology and Training

The Centre for Aerospace Technology and Training (CATT) provides students, faculty and aerospace and manufacturing organizations with access to advanced technologies and equipment you’ll find nowhere else.

Centre for Non-Destructive Inspection

The Centre for Non-Destructive Inspection (CNDI) is home to the only Laser UT System of its kind outside of Lockheed Martin in the United States.

Composites Model Factory

The Composites Model Factory replicates an aerospace composite manufacturing facility. Located at Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport and at Southport, Manitoba, we are at the heart of one of Canada’s major aviation and aerospace centres.

Vehicle Technology & Energy Centre

The Vehicle Technology & Energy Centre (VTEC) puts RRC Polytech researchers, staff, students and facilities to work for national and international manufacturers pursuing applied research in vehicle performance and development. Our areas of focus include the use of renewable fuels, improving the fuel efficiency of fleets, and evaluating and demonstrating emerging technologies, with an emphasis on extreme weather conditions.

Jan den Oudsten Vehicle Technology and Research Centre

Located at RRC Polytech’s Notre Dame Campus, the Vehicle Technology and Research Centre (VTRC) is a dynamic facility where partners, researchers, staff and students collaborate on applied research projects including, prototype design, development and fabrication; testing and evaluation of components, systems and vehicles; vehicle and fleet demonstrations using alternative and renewable fuels.

ACE Project Space

The ACE Project Space at RRC Polytech’s Exchange District Campus is an interactive workspace where students, entrepreneurs, non-profit organizations, and corporations collaborate to bring unique ideas to life through collaborative applied research.

With the guidance of experienced staff and faculty, students of Applied Computer Education’s programs work with industry clients to create prototypes, products, and services. Our instructors are dedicated to teaching the next generation of IT professionals, laying a groundwork of highly sought-after skills that are needed for today’s market.

Digital Technology Transformation Initiative

The Digital Technology Transformation Initiative (DTTI) at RRC Polytech is a flexible research fund supporting Manitoba industry and community partners in their journey toward digital transformation to drive sustainability in our province. The initiative targets Manitoba’s SMEs and community partners, in collaboration with the college.

We recognize and honour Treaty 3 Territory Shoal Lake 40 First Nation, the source of Winnipeg’s clean drinking water. In addition, we acknowledge Treaty Territories which provide us with access to electricity we use in both our personal and professional lives.
