Student Advisory Board Member Opportunity with BHER!
Students are an important stakeholder group for Business + Higher Education Roundtable (BHER). The Student Advisory Board (SAB) provides insights and perspectives on their work, helps ensure that they are responsive to the challenges students face, and that they’re proactive about developing solutions. The SAB member will provide advice and feedback on their projects, activities, and materials, and act as a sounding board for ideas and plans over their nine-month term (September 2021-August 2022).
Why Join The SAB?
- An opportunity to have a voice for students across Canada as it relates to skills and talent development and the future of work;
- Develop new skills while gaining experience and insight into the day to day operations of a national not-for-profit organization;
- Grow your professional network with access to mentorship and professional development opportunities (i.e. coffee chats with BHER staff, workshops);
- Build connections and collaborate with students from post-secondary institutions across Canada; and
- Receive $500 compensation, contributing roughly 5 hours/month of time to review materials and attend meetings.
Qualifications
- Student in their first degree/diploma program attending a Canadian university, college or polytechnic;
- Critical thinker, able to see ways in which postsecondary institutions influence the workforce and vice-versa;
- Ability to contribute to a team environment and work collaboratively;
- Good communication skills; and
- Interest in issues relating to skills, innovation, post-secondary education and/or the future of work.
