Enhance workplace skills through ASPIRE Edge

August 11, 2020

Do you want to enhance your skills for the workplace, but haven’t yet taken the plunge? With one month of summer left, now might be the right time to get ahead! 

The ASPIRE Edge is a three-tier online simulation that bridges the gap between post-secondary education and the workplace.

You can complete the program at your own pace. Here’s what you’ll learn:

Tier 1: NextGen Associate – develop communication, resiliency, and data acumen skills.

Tier 2: NextGen Team Member – take a deep dive into problem-solving and critical thinking, while building your teamwork skills.

Tier 3: NextGen Manager – work as a new manager trainee to strengthen your leadership skills, and learn how to engage your direct reports, manage a budget, and make difficult decisions.

2020 Youth Impact Challenge: Assemble a team for a chance to win $10,000!

Was your internship cancelled? The job market sparse and your summer empty? Or are you working while sitting on something that might change the world?

In either case, if you’re aged 16-25, we want to hear about your social and/or environmental impact ideas. We want to hear from a diversity of perspectives and professional backgrounds. We want to hear from you in groups of three or more. All we want is a simple three-page summary of your idea (no business plan necessary).

What do you win? The top 30 teams will receive $1,000 each and professional mentorship – to help them refine their ideas through the summer. The team who takes the top spot will walk away with $10,000, a whole lot of knowledge, and having met a bunch of industry leaders.

This is the 2020 Youth Impact Challenge, supported by InvestEco Capital and Renewal Funds.

Paid work placements for graduates

ICTC’s Youth Dividend – Paving the Way for the Future of Work is a program that matches unemployed or underemployed graduates from post-secondary institutions with employers across Canada.

Graduates that qualify for this program will receive training and a seven (7) month paid work placement with a Canadian company or non-profit organization in one of the following areas: data science, data analytics, software development, business analysis, sales, marketing, engineering, research, and design.
