Career Launcher: Paid internships in clean tech, digital tech and natural resources

Career Launcher Internships give you access to meaningful work experience and training, giving you the skills needed in Canada’s ever-evolving economy. Students and grads get real-world experience in our clean tech, digital tech, natural resources and ImpAct internships.

Minimum eligibility criteria:

  • Between the ages of 15-30 (inclusive) at the start of the internship
  • Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person granted refugee status in Canada
  • Legally allowed to work according to the relevant provincial and Canadian legislation and regulations

Venture for Canada’s new Intrapreneurship Program!

Venture for Canada is very excited to launch their newest program, in partnership with the Government of Canada, the Intrapreneurship Program.

The Intrapreneurship Program is an alternative way of gaining paid work experience. Students contribute to innovating a small business by working on a 7-week project.

Get your foot in the innovation door and get paid for it through a program designed to give students from underserved communities the ins-and-out of small and medium businesses by solving innovation challenges.

Eligibility:

  • Enrolled full-time at a Canadian post-secondary
  • Canadian citizen, permanent resident or refugee
  • Residing in any Canadian province
  • Identify as a member of an underserved community, BIPOC, a newcomer to Canada, a person with disabilities, a woman studying in STEM fields, and/or a student living in a rural/non-urban community

Please note: International students are not eligible for the Intrapreneurship program. See Venture for Canada’s Fellowship Program instead.

  • Work – Discover jobs from deskwork to fieldwork. Explore openings in science, education, administration, and more!
  • Grow – Learn how organizations are protecting nature and how you can too! All while building your professional skills and professional network.
  • Secure the bag – All Work to Grow placements pay $17.50/hour, and run anywhere from 8 to 16 weeks.

2021 Employment Readiness Conference!

Red River College’s Centre for International Education and Global Partnerships, in collaboration with Student Employment Services, the Academic Success Centre, and the School of Indigenous Education will host the 2nd virtual Employment Readiness Conference (ERC) on June 9, 2021. 

The ERC will involve presentations by RRC staff and industry speakers on topics related to the theme “Build a Brand. Build a Career” in support of recent international graduates as they transition to the Canadian workplace, ideally in opportunities related to their program of study and/or work experience. 

The conference will offer sessions on building your brand, networking, and communication strategies, as well as an employer and alumni panel to share challenges and best practices for branding and networking to get a job, keep a job, and grow on the job. 

Registrants will receive more information on the Employment Readiness Conference as well as a program and schedule for the event.
