BMO Capital Markets: Canada Diversity Scholarships – Summer 2024

BMO Capital Markets has officially launched their Diversity Scholarship with summer internships opportunities.

BMO is committed to providing undergraduate students with opportunities to learn, grow and contribute to their diverse and inclusive culture. This scholarship rewards exceptional undergraduate students who are interested in pursuing a career in banking and financial services.

Eligibility Criteria: Individuals who self-identify as members of the following: 

  • Women 
  • Black community 
  • Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, Métis) persons of Canada  
  • People of Colour  
  • 2SLGBTQ+ community
  • Persons with disabilities

Details of Scholarship:

  • 10 scholarships available (CAD $10,000/each)
  • Includes Summer 2024 internship opportunity (15-week paid employment as a Summer Analyst intern at BMO Capital Markets in Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, or Vancouver, beginning in May 2024)
  • Open to all programs including STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Math)
  • Interviews start in February
  • Scholarship recipients announced in April

Manitoba Hydro – Protection & Telecontrol Recruitment – Apply Now!

These two-year fully paid apprenticeship programs include formal classes and on-the-job training. During your paid training, you will be rotated to different work locations.

Young Canada Works (YCW) is a Government of Canada-funded program for youth, aged 16-30, interested in gaining work experience in museums, heritage sites, archives, libraries or arts and cultural organizations.

There are two programs available:

Young Canada Works offers program participants:

  • Quality paid work experience
  • Valuable Skills Development
  • Networking opportunities
  • Flexibility and support for youth facing barriers

YCW is committed to strengthening diversity and inclusion in youth employment. Youth belonging to equity-deserving groups are highly encouraged to apply.

PwC Canada Scholarship and Mentorship Program – Deadline to apply: February 28

Calling students who are Black, Indigenous and/or Persons with Disabilities, studying in accounting, business and/or STEM! 

PwC Canada is launching their Scholarship and Mentorship program again this year! The scholarship provides financial support to post-secondary students who are Black, Indigenous and/or Persons with Disabilities, studying in accounting, business and/or STEM and demonstrate our five PwC Professional attributes.

Details

  • Up to twenty-five (25) scholarships available this year
  • Each scholarship is for $5,000
  • Scholarship recipients will be paired with a professional from PwC Canada who’ll provide mentorship and coaching for one year
  • Scholarship recipients will receive an offer of paid employment at PwC Canada (acceptance of position is optional and will not impact receipt of scholarship) in Assurance, Tax, Consulting or Deals

National Research Council of Canada Student Employment Program – Apply Now!

Are you part of Canada’s next generation of STEM leaders?  Do you want to gain valuable work experience in your field of study? Are you interested in working on leading-edge projects of value to Canada? Are you looking for amazing learning opportunities in a creative and diverse environment?

The NRC Student Employment Program provides students with practical career-related experience in research and development, engineering, and technology, administration, librarian science, computer science, trades, business, technology advisors, finance, human resources, and other professions. Students work in a challenging and intellectually stimulating environment while having access to superior equipment, facilities and expertise.

As a student at the NRC, you’ll contribute to interesting projects in an environment where teamwork, initiative, and creativity are nurtured. Positions are offered across NRC in various locations from coast to coast.

Who can apply?

You are eligible for the NRC Student Employment Program if:

  • You have obtained a High School diploma (or grade 12 equivalent), and possess a minimum “B” academic average or equivalent (preference may be given to candidates with a “B+” academic average). (equivalencies can be found on the back of your transcript)
  • You are studying at a recognized educational institution and are returning to full-time studies in the next semester
  • You are a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada. Additionally, foreign national students who meet the eligibility requirements, are studying in recognized and eligible Canadian educational institutions and possess a valid Off-Campus Work Permit may also apply.

Priority may be given to the following designated employment equity groups: Women, Indigenous peoples* (First Nations, Inuit and Métis), persons with disabilities and racialized persons*.

* The Employment Equity Act, which is under review, uses the terminology Aboriginal peoples and visible minorities. 

Length of Term

Student work terms last for approximately sixteen weeks (four months). Work can occur full-time during a non-academic semester and part-time during an academic semester.
