LTC Virtual Field Trip: June 2nd

May 27, 2021

Did you know the biggest concentration of snakes in the world is found right here in Manitoba? Every spring, the Narcisse Snake Dens come alive with tens of thousands of red-sided garter snakes as they slither to the surface from their winter dens. These snakes are ready to begin their annual mating ritual.

Although the dens are currently closed to the public due to the pandemic, students can experience this world famous attraction by attending this free webinar, presented by the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS). The presenter will introduce participants to the snakes of Narcisse, provide a virtual tour of the site and explain why so many snakes are attracted to these particular snake dens.

  • When: Wednesday, June 2nd, from 12:00PM – 1:00PM
  • Registration is required: Click here to register.
