Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel (CUAET)

May 26, 2022

The Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel (CUAET) is a three-year temporary visitor visa but holders of the visa can apply for a work visa at the same time that will allow any Ukrainians to work in Canada during that time. While Ukrainians are in Canada they can benefit from Canadian benefits such as business opportunities and public school for children. and English Language Classes.

Ukrainians traveling on the CUAET visa are eligible for English Language classes and do not pay tuition. English Language classes are sponsored by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.

Students require a language assessment completed by Winnipeg English Language Assessment and Referral Centre (WELARC). WELARC helps newcomers to Canada by providing them with a choice of organizations that can best help with improving language skills for work, education and life in Canada. Once the assessment is completed WELARC will make a referral to Red River College Polytechnic. When the college receives the referral students are contacted with information on classes.

Students can make an appointment for the language assessment with WELARC online or by phone at 204-943-5387.
