Thrive Week – Nov 6 to 11

Thrive Week is a time to focus on the importance of balance and self-care in developing positive mental health that supports success in learning and working.

We invite you to take a moment to do something that gets you active, creative, connected or relaxed – whatever it is you need for balance. All events are free and open to students and staff.

For All Campuses, Students and Staff

Participate in one of our events offered virtually or in-person: Don Amero – Keynote presentation, Hip Hop Challenge, Self-Defense Demo, Therapy Dogs, Explore the Universe Planetarium show, Mini Golf, Indigenous Infused Yoga, Movie and Popcorn Lunch, Library Puzzles/Adult Colouring stations and a Birds Hill Provincial Park hike.

  1. Mock Interviews 
    • A simulation of an actual job interview that gives someone the chance to practice what to say and do during an interview and receive feedback. 
    • For additional information on mock interviews, contact an LTC- Student Integration Coordinator, Jillian (jhoogland@rrc.ca) for Winnipeg students or Christy (cdepp@rrc.ca) for regional students. 
  2. Soft Skills 
    • A set of personality characteristics that help employees to interact with others effectively in the workplace. Some examples of soft skills include: interpersonal (people) skills, communication skills, listening skills, time management, problem-solving, and leadership skills. They are often among the top skills employers seek in the candidates they hire because soft skills are important for all jobs.

  3. Manitoba Start 
    • An organization that connects businesses to the workforce and is the leading provider of career services for newcomers to the province. They help with employers’ recruitment needs by matching the unique skill sets of qualified, job-ready newcomers with employers’ specific job requirements.

    • A meeting between a job applicant and an employer. It’s a chance for both the employer and applicant to gather information. An interview allows the candidate to learn more about a company / position and helps the employer to determine if a job candidate should be hired.

Get Your Annual Flu Shot!

RRC Polytech is again hosting annual flu clinics for College staff and students starting in November.  Clinics will run as follows:
