Canadian Immigrant Fair: July 6th

The Canadian Immigrant Fair for newcomers is returning to Winnipeg on July 6th, 2023!

Held at the Radisson Downtown Winnipeg  (288 Portage Ave, 11 Floor), the Canadian Immigrant Fair is a free, one-stop event connecting newcomers with information and inspiration on the three pillars of immigrant success: Careers, Education and Settlement. 

The fair offers a dynamic environment for immigrants who need help as they look for jobs, go back to school and settle into their new home. In addition, newcomer job seekers are invited to participate in the always popular resume critiquing one-on-one sessions and the exciting line up of speakers happening throughout the day.

Indigenous Day Live at The Forks

June 15, 2023

APTN Indigenous Day Live (IDL) will be back in full force on June 17th at The Forks in Winnipeg. Enjoy a full day of drum-beating activities and cap off the evening with a live performance fit for the entire family.

Free and fun activities for all ages begin at 1 p.m.! Take part in traditional demonstrations or a Métis fiddle competition, enjoy talented artisans, tasty snacks from our food vendors and much more. Pre-show moving and grooving performances will start at 5 p.m.

IDL 2023 kicks off on the main stage at 7 p.m. Broadcast live across Turtle Island, the free evening concert will be hosted by Samian and Jessica Matten and will feature a thrilling lineup of artists, including The Halluci Nation, Laura Niquay, Mumu Fresh, Aysanabee and many more.

World Refugee Day is an international day designated by the United Nations to honour refugees around the globe. It falls each year on June 20th and celebrates the strength and courage of people who have been forced to flee their home country to escape conflict or persecution.

Free Admission to the WAG-Qaumajuq

Did you know that the Winnipeg Art Gallery (WAG-Qaumajuq) has FREE admission on the second Sunday of every month?


Free admission includes Qaumajuq, an innovative new museum dedicated to Inuit art and culture that’s connected to the WAG on all levels. Discover the 185,000-square-foot cultural campus that is WAG-Qaumajuq, including the stunning Visible Vault showcasing thousands of carvings and much more.

Canada Revenue Agency Audit Career Fair 2023 (Virtual)

1. Kurzweil:
Kurzweil is based on the concept of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) which aims to present information to learners in different ways that is accessible to as many people as possible. 
 
The main function of Kurzweil 3000 is text-to-speech. Kurzweil has many versions available for use allowing students to have text read aloud to them, including content on the internet (and yes, that includes course content in LEARN!).  
 
If you are looking for a way to reduce your screen time, eye strain or headaches from computer use or simply like trying new things, we encourage you to sign up for a FREE Kurzweil 3000 account! 
 
All current students of RRC Polytech are able to access Kurzweil for free! In order to register for your account, please view the Kurzweil Self Registration guide and follow the instructions. 

2. Technical Skills:
Skillss that employees possess and are specific job-related technical abilities (operating a machine, creating a spreadsheet, touch-typing, driving, dressing a wound, and so forth). Typically, these skills are relatively easy to measure and are often validated with some form of qualification. 
 
3. RRC Polytech Student Support Services:

Summer Volunteer Opportunity
