This is a $800 award given annually to a student for the demonstration of exceptional effort and/or the ability to lead, organize and engage students or the members of the community in emerging or sustained commitment to the values of equity, diversity, inclusion, multiculturalism and social justice.
The successful recipient will be a community activist, advocate and or leader who has worked for systemic changes, at various levels using an intersectional lens, with involvement in, but not limited to; human rights, LGBTT* issues, antiracism, public health, anti-poverty, anti-violence and/or community building. Involvement in the community and or student engagement, encouraging others on issues of social justice that impact the lives of students and the broader community.
Applications will be evaluated by the Diversity Awards Selection Committee based on the following criteria:
