The Mechanical Engineering Technology program combines foundational knowledge with experiential projects and labs to prepare you for a career designing and producing high-quality manufactured goods. The skills and techniques you learn as a student can be applied immediately upon graduation and transferred across industries and organizations.

As a co-op program, Mechanical Engineering Technology alternates between academic study and co-op employment terms, allowing you to build vital on-the-job experience and earn money while learning.

Full-time Delivery: Something New Every Term

As part of the Mechanical Engineering Technology program, you will dedicate one-third of your class time to experiential labs and practical projects. This allows you to apply fundamental skills and theoretical knowledge and develop on-the-job training and work experience.

TERM 1

Build foundational knowledge and develop fundamental engineering skills in mathematics, physics and drawing.

TERM 2

Discover technical applications of foundational engineering concepts, including fluid mechanics and inspection, and explore an introduction to manufacturing.

TERM 3

Apply your learning, gain real work experience and build industry connections through a co-op work placement.

TERM 4

Explore fabrication and learn to design for manufacturing while advancing your knowledge and studying fluid power, programmable logic controllers and force.

TERM 5

Study machine design, material strength, thermodynamics and air conditioning while developing project management skills.

TERM 6

Complete a second co-op term, preparing your skills, knowledge and industry connections for graduation.

TERM 7
