Power Engineering Technology (4th Class)

Develop the skills and knowledge needed to operate and maintain boiler-based power plants alongside, refrigeration systems, HVAC systems and other critical process equipment.
As a 4th Class Power Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of process equipment in residential, institutional, commercial and industrial establishments.
Through this program, you’ll obtain Power Engineering Technology 4th Class certificate from RRC Polytech and develop the skills and knowledge needed to challenge Manitoba’s 4th class licensing exam and operate a power plant. You may also choose to continue your education and expand your career potential through the Power Engineering Technology 3rd Class diploma program.

Full-time Delivery: Something New Every Term
In this program, you’ll explore the operation and maintenance of power plants and build the skills needed to challenge Manitoba’s licensing exam and obtain a 4th Class Power Engineer’s certificate.
TERM 1
Develop practical knowledge in advanced math, electrical theory, thermodynamics and metallurgy while gaining experience in practical learning labs.
TERM 2
Explore the processes, techniques and equipment involved in operating a power plant while building practical experience in our workshop and boiler room. Graduate with a certificate or choose to pursue a 3rd Class diploma.
