CNC Machining and Advanced Technology

This diploma program is an optional second-year continuation of the CNC Machinist Technician certificate program. It has been developed for CNC Machinist Technician graduates or those with a similar combination of education and experience.

In this program, you will prepare for a variety of career opportunities and explore advanced manufacturing technologies, including computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) programming, advanced multi-axis CNC machining, additive manufacturing (3D Printing), robotics and automation. Through the CNC Machining and Advanced Technology program, you will build practical knowledge, employer-sought skills and work experience in our machine shop and through a work practicum. You will also explore elective courses focused on specialized manufacturing techniques, including multi-axis machining, CNC probing and aerospace composite manufacturing.

After completing CNC Machinist Technician’s first year (Terms 1 and 2), you can choose to pursue the CNC Machining and Advanced Technology diploma by completing Terms 3 and 4. Use advanced technologies, including additive manufacturing and automation, explore diverse industry experiences and pursue electives to build skills that support your career path.

Build on your previous machining skills and explore advanced manufacturing processes, including CAM and additive manufacturing.

TERM 4

Showcase your knowledge by completing an in-depth capstone project while exploring diverse career options through elective courses.
