Develop the theoretical and practical skills needed to design and produce high-quality manufactured goods in a variety of industries.
The Mechanical Engineering Technology program combines foundational knowledge with experiential projects and labs to prepare you for a career designing and producing high-quality manufactured goods. The skills and techniques you learn as a student can be applied immediately upon graduation and transferred across industries and organizations.
As a co-op program, Mechanical Engineering Technology alternates between academic study and co-op employment terms, allowing you to build vital on-the-job experience and earn money while learning.
As part of the Mechanical Engineering Technology program, you will dedicate one-third of your class time to experiential labs and practical projects. This allows you to apply fundamental skills and theoretical knowledge and develop on-the-job training and work experience.
Build foundational knowledge and develop fundamental engineering skills in mathematics, physics and drawing.
Discover technical applications of foundational engineering concepts, including fluid mechanics and inspection, and explore an introduction to manufacturing.
Apply your learning, gain real work experience and build industry connections through a co-op work placement.
Explore fabrication and learn to design for manufacturing while advancing your knowledge and studying fluid power, programmable logic controllers and force.
Study machine design, material strength, thermodynamics and air conditioning while developing project management skills.
Complete a second co-op term, preparing your skills, knowledge and industry connections for graduation.
Challenge yourself with a final capstone project that integrates all your previous learning while pursuing specialized elective courses.
Excel with practical learning and experienced instructors, all focused on your success. With an employer-driven education, you won’t just be ready for a career – you’ll be prepared to stay in front of what’s ahead.
