Power Engineering Technology (5th Class)

Maintain and monitor safe, efficient building facilities in a variety of industries.

Learn to operate and maintain a heating plant alongside air conditioning systems, refrigeration devices and other building infrastructure.

As a 5th class power engineer, you’ll be responsible for the operation and maintenance of heating plants, ensuring general facility upkeep and safety while maintaining client comfort.

Through the Power Engineering Technology 5th Class program, you’ll build the in-depth knowledge and technical skills you need to use and maintain boilers, pumps, fans, air compressors, motors, air conditioning systems, refrigeration devices and other critical facility equipment. You’ll also develop professional communication skills and learn to coordinate and schedule maintenance staff, manage contractors and communicate with tenants and provincial authorities.
