Welcome to Winnipeg is an initiative developed by the True North Youth Foundation focused on welcoming International Students to the city and introducing the newcomer community to the game of hockey.
The goal of the initiative is to introduce International Students to The Winnipeg Jets Hockey Club, the game of hockey, and invite students out to Camp Manitou to participate and learn about various winter activities.
How many participants: 40 participants in each group. Must be a student of Red River College.
Participants will have fun trying different winter activities: tobogganing, floor hockey, ice skating, and snowshoeing. All equipment is provided and also a meal is included. Participants are only required to dress very warm!
For those students who participate, the Jets will provide:
- Day of winter activities at Camp Manitou – all equipment provided
- A Meal for participants
- Each participant will receive a free ticket to a Winnipeg Jets game (game TBD)
- Each participant will receive a $25 gift card to the Jets Gear retail store

*Free Bus transportation from the Red River College Exchange District Campus will be coordinated for the day of the event. The bus will be leaving at 12:00 pm and returning by 6:30 pm.
The first 2 students to show interest in this event will be given an opportunity to participate. please e-mail Student Integration Coordinator, Lauren Konrad, at lkonrad@rrc.ca to express your interest. Only those who are selected will receive passes and event details.
