Student Refugee Program Committee Members Needed
The Centre for International Education and Global Partnerships is looking for students who are interested in joining the Student Refugee Program Committee as committee members or volunteer support persons.
WUSC’s Student Refugee Program provides student refugees with an opportunity to pursue their education at a Canadian university and/or college, as permanent residents. Along with a team of other volunteers, you will partner with a student arriving at Red River College through the WUSC Student Refugee Program (SRP), in order to offer support during their transition to life in Canada, on campus and in the Winnipeg community.
We are looking for students in the 2019-2020 school year who are interested in international development and refugee issues, and are willing to help the sponsored student during their settlement here in Winnipeg. Volunteers would also serve on the Local Committee meeting once per month.
If you are interested, contact Norlan Page at nopage@rrc.ca for a complete description of responsibilities and opportunities.
