Summer Activities!

It is summer in Winnipeg, and that means there is a LOT happening around town. Here are a few things you can do for FREE this week (and through the summer)!

Summer Music Series at Assiniboine Park

There are many free concerts and performances at the Assiniboine Park this summer.  To watch and attend, you need to show up with your lawn chair and a bottle of water.

Fitness in the Library at Millennium Library Park

Take advantage of free Fitness in the park classes this summer 2019.

Millennium Library Park, 251 Donald St, Winnipeg, MB

Please find the week to week Fitness in the Park schedule below:

  • Monday: Yoga at Millennium Library Park
  • Tuesday: 9Round at Millennium Library Park
  • Thursday: Morfit at Millennium Library Park
  • Friday: Yoga at Millennium Library Park 

Classes begin Monday June 3, 2019 and run Monday – Friday from 12:00 – 1:00 PM. In the event of bad weather, classes will be cancelled for that day.

 

Corydon Avenue Biz Concert Series

You can come and dance under the stars on Corydon Avenue.  Enjoy free concerts every Friday and Saturday from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm.  You will experience some of Manitoba’s best bands.

Family Mental Health Festival on Saturday, July 6

 This free event is family friendly and is about celebrating our strengths, raising awareness and lowering the stigma that surrounds mental illness and differences. Inspire Community Outreach Inc. encourages all members of our community to celebrate themselves and their own experiences with mental health.

The Family Mental Wellness Festival is open to the public. Registration is not required for enjoying the celebration or attending the live performances. This vibrant event is appropriate for all ages, with guest speakers, live musical and dance performances, family yoga, zumba, children’s entertainment and Wellness resource fair! The event will take place from 11am-5pm.

The event takes place at the Assinioboine Park.  Come and join the celebration!

 

Salsa Sundays at the FORKS

This even is very popular in Winnipeg in the summer.  Hundreds of people of all ages and dance ability join hosts Salsa Explosion Dance Company under the canopy for intro dance lessons, dance showcases and social dancing to the rhythms of live bands and DJs. Enjoy some salsa at the Forks!
