Read&Write – Free Software to Support Students!

Read&Write is what we like to call a “multi-tool for school”! Read&Write has supports for:

  • Reading – listen to content read aloud; use screen masking features to help with visual tracking
  • Writing – use the digital highlighters to collect information; use voice dictation to type by talking; or use predictive text like on your cell phone
  • Studying – use the highlighters to create a study guide (and then listen to that study guide read aloud); create a vocabulary guide
  • Translation – translate text into another language, and (for most languages) have the text read aloud in that language
  • Comprehension – use the definition feature to understand single words; use simplify or rewordify to aid comprehension of technical or lengthy text (online only)

Students at Red River College Polytechnic you have access to Read&Write, with all of these amazing features and more, completely free!

You can self-enroll in the Read&Write Tutorial in LEARN that is designed to walk you through installing and using Read&Write. Once enrolled, you can pick and choose which modules you want to go through and go through them at your own pace.
