Career Services provides personalized support and direction to students and recent graduates seeking summer, part-time, full-time and temporary employment.

MB Hydro Summer Student Program
Interested in joining Manitoba Hydro’s team for the summer to build professional knowledge and gain hands-on experience?
Manitoba Hydro offers over 200 summer employment opportunities in the energy industry to university and college students throughout Manitoba.
Manitoba Hydro typically hires students enrolled in academic programs that support their operational requirements. Jobs are available in a number of areas including, but not limited to:
- Accounting
- Business Administration
- Engineering
- Entry-level (undeclared, U1, etc.)
- Environmental
- General Labour
- Geography
- Information Technology
- Trades & Technology
Applications are accepted annually in December and January.
Resumés are matched to career-related positions starting February 1st, and work terms run from May to August. If your resumé is received later than January, you may be matched with general labour or general administration positions.

MB Hydro Power Line Technician Training Program
This four-year fully paid apprenticeship program includes competency-based trade schools, formal classes, and on-the-job training.
During your paid training, you will be rotated to different work locations. After you complete your training and successfully pass testing and evaluation, you will receive a Journeyperson Certificate.
To apply, you must register and create an online profile through Manitoba Hydro’s external Careers website.
All applications must include a resume, cover letter, high school transcripts, and any post-secondary school transcripts or training certificates.
Applications will be accepted between December 1 – December 19, 2022.
