Winnipeg Transit Service Disruptions
The City of Winnipeg informed RRC Polytech that Winnipeg Transit riders may experience service delays or buses may be cancelled on various routes throughout the city starting this week. This is due to ongoing negotiations between the City and the Amalgamated Transit Union.
The College is monitoring the situation closely and has started planning to ensure we meet the needs of students, staff, and faculty should further service disruptions occur.
This includes reviewing upcoming final exams and assignment schedules for potential alternative approaches should there be widespread disruption to transit services in the coming weeks. Should changes take place regarding exams or assignments, students will be notified directly by someone in their program.
We encourage everyone at the College who relies on Winnipeg Transit to consider exploring precautionary alternative plans for commuting to and from campuses during this time.
We ask that students and staff please continue to communicate with your instructor or supervisor should you experience delays due to transit schedule disruptions. These instances will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis to ensure students and staff are supported.
We remain in contact with the City of Winnipeg and will keep you informed regarding our plans should transit services be impacted further.
Please reach out to your instructor, program Chair, or supervisor if you have any questions or concerns.
