Red River College Polytechnic will be on a holiday break between December 22, 2023, at 4 p.m. until January 2, 2024, at 8 a.m.

Technical support services are limited during the holiday break. Support will be available on an emergency basis for the following systems: RRC Polytech website, Microsoft 365 Tools, Email, HUB, LEARN, Self-Service, Internet, Card Access, and Colleague.

To report a problem please create a Service Ticket, normal support will resume at 8:00 am on January 2, 2024.

IT Solutions would like to make the College community aware of a provider scheduled maintenance window affecting the College internet connection.

–Scheduled Maintenance Window–
Start: Sunday, August 06th, 0000hrs (12:00am)
Complete: Sunday, August 06th, 0200hrs (02:00am)

–User Experience–
During the maintenance window there will be interruption to the College internet connection, resulting in no access to RRC hosted applications and services from off-site locations, and no access to internet hosted applications or services from on-Campus locations.  Examples of services affected include but are not limited to: access to VPN from off-site, access to HUB from off-site, access to virtual desktops from off-site, and internet from on-campus.

The main College web page (www.rrc.ca), as well as Cloud hosted College services will NOT be affected. These services include but are not limited to: Learn, O365, Webex, Adobe Cloud Connect, Campus Press, and Salesforce.

IT Solutions recently completed upgrades to our VPN.  Staff will be upgraded to the new client when they next connect to VPN.  The new client is very similar in function to the previous client, with the following changes:

1. When connecting to VPN, a tab in your default browser will open to complete the MFA process.  This was previously handled within the VPN client’s internal browser.  This tab can be closed once authentication is complete.
2. A tab in your default browser may also be opened on disconnect.  This can be closed when disconnect is completed.
3. The VPN client has been renamed to the “Cisco Secure Client”.  It was previously called the “Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client”.  If searching for the app on your computer, search for “Secure”.
