Configure wireless network – Mac

To manually configure your personal device to connect to the RRC wireless network, follow these steps:

1. Click Wi‑Fi on the Menu bar, and then click Open Network Preferences.
   
2. On the Network menu, select the Automatically join this network check box, and then click Advanced.
   
3. On the Network menu (or AirPort menu on older devices), on the Wi‑Fi tab (or AirPort tab on older devices), click + to add a new network.
   
4. On the Add a Wi‑Fi network profile menu (or Edit the existing network menu on older devices), complete the fields as follows:
   • • In the Network Name field, enter RRCWireless (case sensitive).
     • In the Security type field, select WPA2-Enterprise in the drop‑down menu.
     • In the User Name field, enter your College user name.
     • In the Password field, enter your College password.
   NOTE: Enter the same user name and password that you use to access the RRC Polytech network.
   • If prompted, in the 802.1X field, select Automatic in the drop‑down menu.
   • Click OK (or Save on older devices). The RRC Wireless network status will change to “Connected,” and you can begin using the network. If your network connection is unsuccessful, proceed to Step 5.
     
5. If you were unable to connect to the network in the previous step, you will have to configure your device as follows:
   • On the Network menu, click Advanced. (Refer to Step 2 to find the Advanced network option.)
   • On the Network menu (or AirPort menu on older devices), under the 802.1X tab, enter your College user name and password.
   NOTE: Enter the same user name and password that you use to access the RRC Polytech network.
   • In the Authentication field, select the PEAP and LEAP check boxes (also select the TTLS and EAP‑FAST check boxes if available).
   • In the Wireless Network field, select RRCWireless in the drop‑down menu.
   • In the Security Type field, select WPA2 Enterprise in the drop‑down menu.
   • Click OK.
