Activate Windows & Office 2016 to remove warnings

If you receive a warning message to activate Windows or Office 2016, it means your activation has expired. You must connect your College‑issued devices to the College’s network once every 180 days to ensure your license remains active.

To activate your Windows and Office 2016 licenses and remove the warning messages, please follow these steps:

  1. Connect your device either to the College’s:
    • VPN
    • Wi‑Fi
    • Wired network

NOTE: You can connect to the College’s Wi‑Fi network from your vehicle when you are in the parking lot or parked close to the campus. You do not have to enter the Campus buildings to access the Wi‑Fi network.
  2. Log on to your device using your College user name and password.

IMPORTANT: Once you have logged on, wait at least five minutes for specific background processes to be completed, before moving on to step 3.
  3. Restart your computer.

If the warning messages remain after you restart your computer, open the ITS Service Desk website to submit a Service Desk ticket.

To request a VPN account, complete the VPN Account: New Account and Password Reset Maestro process. For more information about the College’s VPN, open the Virtual Private Network (VPN) Help Resources web page.
