1. Purpose

1.1

These Procedures set out how RRC Polytech addresses Public Health Protection.

2. Definitions

2.1

The words in these Procedures shall be read consistently with the words in the Public Health Protection Policy.

4. COVID-19 Protocols

4.1

Protocols: Red River College Polytechnic requires all Students, Employees, Residents, Clients, Contractors, and Visitors to adhere to the COVID-19 protocols that may be implemented from time to time at College Campuses as it relates to COVID-19. These protocols include the following:

  1. Using proper Hand Hygiene;
  2. Using proper Cough Etiquette; and
  3. Wearing PPE that has been identified for your work or learning environment or student.

4.2

Face Mask Usage:

  1. An Approved Face Mask may be worn on campus at the discretion of each individual. Masks are not required to be worn in indoor or outdoor spaces. Members of RRC Polytech Community will be respectful of the choice made by others whether to wear or not wear a mask based on their personal considerations.

4.3

Protocols for Symptomatic Worker or Student on Campus:

  1. These protocols apply to all persons attending Campus, including those who are Fully Vaccinated.
  2. Any person planning to attend a Campus must self-assess for symptoms of COVID-19 prior to attending the Campus and may not attend if showing symptoms of COVID-19.
  3. Any employee or student who is experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 while on campus must immediately leave campus and not return until the symptoms of illness have resolved.

Individual Uncooperative on Campus:

  1. RRC Polytech expects that all individuals will treat others with respect in connection with this Policy.
  2. Where an individual refuses to comply with this Policy or fails to behave in a manner consistent with RRC Polytech’s behavioural expectations, RRC Polytech will take the steps outlined below
  3. In addition, in the event that any individual behaves in a manner inconsistent with RRC Polytech’s behavioural expectations in their interactions with any College Employee or Student, they may be removed from and/or barred from Campus. RRC Polytech reserves the right to impose other appropriate consequences as outlined in the Student Discipline Policy or under the Collective Agreement between RRC Polytech and the MGEU.

RRC Polytech campuses are located on the lands of Anishinaabe, Ininiwak, Anishininew, Dakota, and Dené, and the National Homeland of the Red River Métis.

We recognize and honour Treaty 3 Territory Shoal Lake 40 First Nation, the source of Winnipeg’s clean drinking water. In addition, we acknowledge Treaty Territories which provide us with access to electricity we use in both our personal and professional lives.
