RRC Polytech’s Resource and Resolution Advisor is the main point of contact for all reports, concerns, or complaints related to harassment, discrimination and sexual violence in all its forms for all members of the College Community.
This advisor has experience in responding to these kinds of concerns and is the best person to provide referrals for support, and outline information about the options and processes available for the individual who has been impacted. This includes students, staff and faculty members.

Counselling is available to all RRC Polytech students free of charge, on a confidential and voluntary basis. Professional counsellors are available to meet by appointment or by completing an online registration form.
If you are in crisis, Counselling Services can meet with you for a same day crisis appointment. A crisis is when not being seen immediately could lead to serious consequences or seriously aggravate your current state. Examples of crisis include:

If you are an RRC Polytech Employee, you and your dependents can access free and confidential counselling services through Lifeworks, RRC Polytech Employee and Family Assistance Program. LifeWorks offers 24/7 confidential support and resources to help you manage issues related to work, life and everything in between.

We have partnered with REES (Respect, Educate, Empower Survivors) to provide online reporting for sexual violence on campus. REES allows members of our campus community to create a Record of the incident and provides multiple reporting options that include Anonymous Report, Connect to My Campus and Report to Police. REES also provides information about campus and community-based resources such as sexual assault centres, healthcare, and support services.
In addition to the many supports offered to staff and students on campus, there are also many community resources available to you.
Telephone crisis line available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Experienced and professionally trained individuals are ready to take your call, answer questions, and let you know your options.
Sharing your feelings with a counsellor can help you re-affirm your own strength and self-worth. Professional counselling is available for up to 12 weeks. To begin, contact the intake worker. The Men’s Resource Centre (MRC) provides free therapy and support services for men age 16 and up who have experienced trauma and stressors in their lives and want to resolve related issues. They welcome men from all walks of life and provide support for a diverse range of topics while recognize mental health challenges and substance use as long term impacts of unresolved trauma and stressors.
Ka Ni Kanichihk’s Heart Medicine Lodge program provides culturally based support and advocacy services for Indigenous women who have experienced sexual assault and sexual violence. This program is available to all Indigenous people who identify as women and are over the age of 18.
The Sexual Assault Advocate acts as a support and resource for women who have been sexually assaulted. This can include accompaniment to police services, accompaniment to medical appointments, assistance with filing police reports, and referrals to Victim’s Compensation.
The SARAH program provides sexual assault crisis intervention services, hospital accompaniment and support, follow-up support, and referrals to regional service providers.
The HSC Sexual Assault Program is intended for individuals seeking medical attention after a recent sexual assault. This program is available 24 hours a day, seven days week at the Adult Emergency department at the Health Sciences Centre. Watch the video.
