Most Common Violations Explained

Improperly Parked

Vehicles must park between two yellow stall lines in parking areas with visible lines. In parking areas with posts (West 4, North 4 lots), vehicles must park in such a way that two vehicles may park between two posts. If parallel parking (Angood Ave. and Buhr Blvd), ensure there is enough room for other vehicles to leave. Do not park on areas with clearly marked hash lines.

Fines

$30 if paid within 15 days.
$70 if paid after 15 days.

Parking In An Accessible Stall

Vehicles parking in a designated accessible parking stall without displaying an authorized Manitoba Accessible (formerly SMD) permit will receive a citation and are subject to immediate removal. This violation can not be appealed.

Fines

$150 if paid within 15 days.
$300 if paid after 15 days.

 

No Parking In A Fire Lane

Clearly signed fire lane areas are not for parking. Students may be picked-up and dropped-off in these areas, but the driver must stay in the vehicle at all times in a designated fire lane area. Unattended vehicles will receive a citation. This violation can not be appealed.

Fines

$30 if paid within 15 days.
$70 if paid after 15 days.

 

Parking Overtime

When parking on campus, ensure that you have paid appropriately through a pay dispenser or the mobile parking app.

$30 if paid within 15 days.
$70 if paid after 15 days.

 

Failure To Register Correct License Plate Number

It is the responsibility of the parker:

  • To ensure the information on his/her permit profile is correct and up-to-date, including license plates of vehicles parked on campus.
  • Correct license plate number must be entered at the pay station or mobile parking app.

Fines

$30 if paid within 15 days.
$70 if paid after 15 days.

Complimentary Parking

Parking is complimentary on Fridays after 5:00pm, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Parking is on a scramble basis in all open lots.
