The Centre for Automation and Manufacturing Technology Transfer (CAMTT) is the gateway to applied research, innovation, tech transfer and talent for small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs) in Manitoba and beyond.
CAMTT serves as the technology and innovation center of the new Price Institute of Advanced Manufacturing and Mechatronics at RRC Polytech.
CAMTT forms a nexus of industry and academic partners that encourages collaboration to drive advancement through innovative solutions in the manufacturing sector. It provides a distributed network of spaces, facilities and expertise through which partners can access and leverage technology, knowledge, assets and talent in a work-integrated, real-world environment where truth and reconciliation and equity-based representation is a priority.
Established on the foundational pillars of collaborative programming, automation, manufacturing, technology and transfer, it is the first of its kind in Manitoba – and features the first Chair of Advanced Manufacturing and Mechatronics in the province.
Our network of talent is eager to put their expertise and our leading-edge facilities and technology to work and collaborate with industry to help our partners by:
A unique advantage is that CAMTT operates beyond traditional school hours to offer industry, faculty and students more time to innovate and collaborate on solving challenging and rewarding applied research problems.
Our applied research projects cover all areas of digital technology development and implementation in manufacturing and mechatronics.
An unparalleled combination of faculty, experts and students widens the range of our capabilities in the emerging areas of advanced manufacturing, automation, Artificial Intelligence, robotics and mechatronics. Their backgrounds encompass IT, data science and machine learning, manufacturing, computer, electrical and electronics engineering/technologies and are augmented with valuable industry and project experience.
With a minimal financial contribution, you can expect extensive collaboration aimed to help you leverage resources (funding, talent, equipment, network etc.) to position your project for success by maximizing emerging technologies, state-of-the-art equipment and outside-the-box thinking to tackle your specific challenge. During the project, students gain desirable skills and work experience by collaborating with teammates, faculty, experts and manufacturers-in-residence to solve real-world problems.
Are you a manufacturer with a wealth of innovative ideas, but are short on staff, specialized equipment, full funding and collaborative working space? CAMTT provides the perfect environment to help you develop and implement Industry 4.0 technologies by de-risking the process!
Turn your ideas into reality by guiding our students, experts, faculty and staff with a shared vision as they experiment to perfect new concepts and processes. Our manufacturers-in-residence are provided with space, Internet connectivity, and access to meeting rooms to interactively collaborate with a team solely dedicated to their venture.
Our partners and supporters are the lifeblood of CAMTT, enabling us to help all manufacturers de-risk and adopt innovative Industry 4.0 solutions created with manufacturers and for manufacturers. We are always looking for partners and supporters to be part of our growing network of manufacturers, faculty, experts, students, staff and facilities to enhance the adoption of Industry 4.0 and improve our programming.
Partner with us to leverage our technology, innovation, expertise, assets and talent and take your project from idea to reality!
