Water bottle filling stations

We began installing water bottle filling stations across campuses back in 2012 through a partnership with the Students’ Association and Sustainability department. Our initial goal was to install 16 water bottle stations, and since that time, we’ve increased the number of stations to 55 and counting!

About the stations

Each water bottle filling station has a high quality filter that’s changed once the unit has dispensed 10,000 litres of water (which is around once a year). The stations filter municipal water to remove lead, chlorine, taste, and odor.

Where to find stations on campus

We’re proud to provide a sustainable way to access drinking water on campus, and encourage you to “choose to reuse” by refilling a bottle at a station near you!

RRC Polytech campuses are located on the lands of the Anishinaabeg, Ininiwak, Anishininwak, Dakota Oyate, and Denésuline, and the National Homeland of the Red River Métis.

We recognize and honour Treaty 3 Territory Shoal Lake 40 First Nation, the source of Winnipeg’s clean drinking water. In addition, we acknowledge Treaty Territories which provide us with access to electricity we use in both our personal and professional lives.
