Applied Research

Areas of applied research opportunity within the Schroeder Institute are diverse and immense, whether it’s leveraging AI in media creation, exploring how to best utilize immersive technologies like virtual or augmented reality in productions, even how to reduce the carbon footprint of productions – for example, renewable energy on film sets.

These areas dovetail with much of our existing work and expertise in applied research and we look forward to engaging with industry partners in Manitoba’s creative arts sector on new frontiers of research and development.

Together, we will help establish the Schroeder Institute as an applied research leader in Canada.
