Whether you want to complete your Grade 12 Diploma, upgrade your skills or acquire the high school credit required to meet post-secondary entrance requirements – our Adult Learning Centre can help you achieve these goals.

Full-time vs. Part-time Programs

Do I have to enroll in a full-time program? Are part-time options available?

RRC Polytech Steinbach Campus recognizes that work and family commitments often make it difficult to attend school on a full-time basis. All full-time programs are available on a part-time basis. We can help you to adapt your schedule to meet your individual needs. Check out our list of programs.

Language Training and Childcare

RRC Polytech also runs a Language Training Centre in Steinbach that offers free English classes and childcare for permanent residents and refugees.

Academic Advising

RRC Polytech Steinbach Campus offers academic advising services for current and prospective students.

Distance Education Exams

RRC Polytech Steinbach Campus is your local Distance Education Exam Centre. Contact our office at 204-320-2500 ext. 6003 regarding scheduling of exams and associated fees.

Accepted and Current Students

Administration Policies

It is the responsibility of all students registered at the RRC Polytech Steinbach Campus to be familiar with the specific academic and attendance requirements of the diploma, certificate, or document of achievement they plan to pursue. Students are advised to obtain a new program outline every September of keep informed of any program changes.

Annual Tuition Tax Receipt

The annual T2202 tuition tax receipts required for claiming educational tax credits on your Canada Revenue Agency tax return are made available through RRC Polytech HUB at the end of February for each calendar year in which students are enrolled. T2202s are only available at RRC Polytech HUB and are not mailed out. Students must have activated their RRC Polytech web accounts to have access to RRC Polytech HUB.

Class Schedules

Class schedules for full-time programs will be available during the student orientation prior to the start of classes. Full-time certificate program classes may be scheduled as early as 8am; evening and weekend classes may be required.

Change your Program or Course

Can I change programs or courses once I am enrolled?

All changes for students enrolled in full-time programs must be approved by the RRC Polytech Steinbach Campus Manager. While some of our programs do have flexible elective options, others programs are regulated and consist of specific courses which cannot be substituted.

Credit Transfer to Other Institutions

Will courses and programs taken at RRC Polytech Steinbach Campus be recognized by other colleges or universities?

RRC Polytech has a number of articulation agreements with other colleges and universities, making it possible for RRC Polytech students to apply credits taken in Steinbach to programs at other institutions. Please check the requirements of the program you applying to.

Library Services

Library Services from the main campus in Winnipeg are accessible to all students, including those attending classes at the RRC Polytech Steinbach Campus. Students can request books and other print material from the RRC Polytech Library and have them mailed to their home.

Name Changes

If you have legally changed your name since you last registered at RRC Polytech and would like your student record changed, please contact Steinbach Campus. Legal proof of your name change will be required to update your records.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Can prior learning be recognized towards RRC Polytech courses?

RRC Polytech’s Recognition of Prior Learning process makes it possible for you to get credit for learning you have done outside the classroom. RRC Polytech has a Recognition of Prior Learning process and protocol, which helps you transfer recent credits from other programs into one of RRC Polytech Steinbach Campus programs. RRC Polytech would refer to articulation agreements for specific course transfers.

If you are planning to request this kind of credit as part of your program of studies, be sure to check this with the RRC Polytech Steinbach Campus Manager well in advance of the program start date, since this process can take some time.

Refund Policies

Funded Programs

  • Withdrawal within the first 7% of the term – refund of 100% fees less non-refundable deposit where applicable
  • Withdrawal within between 7% and 25% of the term – refund of 50% fees
  • Withdrawal after 25% of the term – no refund
  • Health and dental fees are fully refundable up to 30 calendar days from the start of the program

Cost Recovery Programs

  • Students will receive a full refund, less their deposit if they withdraw prior to the first day of class.
  • Students will receive a 50% refund if they withdraw within five days of the start of the program (weekends and holidays have been excluded).
  • Students will receive no refund on day six of the program or later.

Part-Time / Course Base

  • Full refunds will be issued if a course is not run by the College
  • Partial refunds are available for courses (17 hours or more) up to the day before the start of the second class.
  • For courses/workshops (16 hours or less), partial refunds are available 8 days prior to the first class.

Note: Partial refund refers to the holding back of the $50 admin fee.

Textbooks

The cost of textbooks is not included in the registration fee unless noted. Textbooks may be returned, if unmarked, no later than 10 days after the course has started providing that the books have not been used. Books should be returned directly to the bookstore. If the books are wrapped and the seal has been broken, they cannot be returned.

Transcripts and Certificates

Official transcripts from RRC Polytech are issued and accessed through MyCreds, a digital credential platform for certifying, sharing and verifying academic credentials. Transition to Programs in Winnipeg

Can course credits earned at the RRC Polytech Steinbach Campus be transferred to Certificate and Diploma Programs at RRC Polytech in Winnipeg?

RRC Polytech Steinbach Campus offers numerous “core courses” which are transferable between programs at our location and other RRC Polytech Campuses. Our business and administrative programs have been designed in such a way as to ensure that students wishing to continue in RRC Polytech business programs can transfer credits to other RRC Polytech programs.

RRC Polytech campuses are located on the lands of Anishinaabe, Ininiwak, Anishininew, Dakota, and Dené, and the National Homeland of the Red River Métis.

We recognize and honour Treaty 3 Territory Shoal Lake 40 First Nation, the source of Winnipeg’s clean drinking water. In addition, we acknowledge Treaty Territories which provide us with access to electricity we use in both our personal and professional lives.
